The name Bluestone is derived from the Blues music in Bluegrass and the stone in the former Keystone band name. Bluestone got it's start 20 yrs. ago when former members of the southern York county band named "Keystone", Dick Laird and Carroll Swam wanted to continue their unique sound, so along with Dick's two sons, Heath and Jeff, and veteran Tom Neal, the band was formed. Through the years, joining them on different projects were fiddlers, Jon Glik, and Patrick McAvinue. The newest member, Russ Hooper, greatly helps Bluestone's traditional sound. Firmly grounded in traditional bluegrass, their music incorporates gospel, country, blues, swing, and folk influences as well.
